EloR is an RNA-binding protein recently discovered to be involved in regulating cell elongation Streptococcus pneumoniae. It has been found localize midcell. Winther et al. Using a bacterial two-hybrid assay and coimmunoprecipitation, they acts complex with lytic transglycosylase MltG, which crucial for elongating pneumococcal cell.
